One of the joys of hitting music festivals is being blown away by the unknown, unexpected band, the one you can rave about when you get home. Apparat Organ Quartet was one such band at Airwaves 06. They were on the same bill as the Go! Team, and I’ve no doubt bored people to death discussing this Icelandic revelation .
They’re usually compared to Kraftwerk, but with more soul and a whole lot more stage presence. Five guys on synthesizers doesn’t sound like a great live act, but they rocked. No, I have no idea why a five person band is a quartet.
And they’re not on the Airwaves band list this year! At least not now anyway. That would be criminal.
